IT software & automation

Less repetition.
More control.

Self-service software for the people who run IT. AD Access Review turns account and group data into a local review package. The v0.2.0 pilot has passed testing in one isolated AD lab; wider validation is next.

AD Access Review.
A clearer starting point for account reviews.

The latest internal pilot combines read-only account reporting and group relationships with a dated HTML report, CSV evidence files, and a reviewer worksheet. Version 0.2.0 includes guided setup, visible failures, and evidence-file verification. The original portable pilot package has completed live testing in one isolated Windows Server 2025 AD lab.

Milestone reached: the full pilot package passed its isolated AD lab test.

The original 27-file package ran as an ordinary reader: 50 live-directory comparisons and 20 package/failure checks passed. The latest automated suite also passes 90 checks on each PowerShell test engine. One small lab does not establish broader compatibility or production readiness. IMPLEMENTED IN THE PILOT

Account visibility

Account status, creation and password dates, and configurable inactivity-review candidates. Older replicated logon timestamps are indicators for human review.

IMPLEMENTED IN THE PILOT

Group relationships

Direct, primary, and nested user-to-group relationships, with selected privileged groups identified by SID and an observed membership path.

IMPLEMENTED IN THE PILOT

A reusable evidence package

A dated HTML summary, eight CSV exports, structured JSON, collection settings, query outcomes, and file hashes.

IMPLEMENTED IN THE PILOT

Human decisions, visible gaps

A worksheet for owners, reviewers, decisions, reasons, and ticket references. Collection errors and unresolved membership references remain visible.

NEW IN V0.2.0

Guided setup and clearer failures

A console menu, local prerequisite checks, output-access checks, progress messages, and clearer failure results. The setup check makes no directory queries.

NEW IN V0.2.0

Verify the evidence files

Compare exported files with their recorded hashes and sizes. Missing, changed, or unlisted files are flagged for review; an unsigned manifest does not authenticate the evidence.

Preview the pilot’s reporting format.

Explore the v0.2.8 sample with eight fictional accounts. See how account indicators, membership paths, collection coverage, and the review worksheet fit together. The sample uses no customer directory information.

Focused first-release scope

One on-premises Active Directory domain and AD user objects. Live collection is intended for Windows PowerShell 5.1 with Microsoft's ActiveDirectory module. Automated checks pass on both PowerShell test engines; live collection has passed in one isolated lab using Windows PowerShell 5.1. Wider environment compatibility remains under review. The code performs directory reads and writes local report files. It does not disable, delete, or modify accounts.

This pilot does not assess computer accounts, managed service accounts, effective resource permissions, other domains, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, or MFA. A membership report is not a full security assessment or a compliance certification.

Focused tools for everyday IT work.

AD Access Review is our first built pilot. The other product areas below remain plans; they are not included in the pilot and have not been released.

Software you can use on your terms.

Our direction is self-service IT software: focused automation, understandable reports, and clear documentation.

01 / AUTOMATE

Make repetitive work repeatable.

Our planned tools focus on routine checks and reporting tasks that administrators perform again and again.

02 / UNDERSTAND

Know what a tool does.

Each release is intended to include documentation covering setup, permissions, scope, and how to interpret its results.

03 / STAY IN CONTROL

Work in your own environment.

We aim to make tool use self-service, with requirements and data handling explained before you run anything.

04 / KEEP IT FOCUSED

Choose the task you need.

Browse by use case and review a tool's details when it launches. Product questions and feedback can be handled by email.

From a working pilot to a reliable release.

The isolated lab milestone is complete. Current focus: independent first-use feedback, clearer report guidance, broader compatibility testing, and a documented self-service release. No public toolkit download, paid release, or launch date has been announced.

v0.2.0 pilot functionality
Read-only reporting, group relationships, reviewer worksheet, guided setup, local prerequisite checks, and evidence verification are implemented.
Implemented
Automated application and release checks
90 checks pass per hosted Windows PowerShell 5.1 and PowerShell 7 engine: application logic, workflow, command-line behavior, packaging and release-record validation. These use synthetic data and mocked AD commands.
Passed
Live AD lab validation
The private Windows Server 2025 domain and runner are configured. An ordinary reader passed 50 comparisons covering account state, direct/nested/primary group relationships, exclusions, and safe report output.
Passed in lab
Full portable pilot package
The original 27-file ZIP passed 20 package/failure checks as a non-administrator, repeated the 50 directory comparisons, and had five report manifests independently verified. Repeated comparisons are not additional scenarios.
Passed in lab
Tester handoff and launch preparation
Revised first-session instructions, a feedback form, a repeatable tester ZIP, support proposals and a payment/delivery checklist are prepared. Independent first-use feedback and final distribution/commercial decisions remain open.
Prepared
Broader validation and report refinements
Three historical-login-timestamp cases still need actual AD validation. Wider compatibility, restricted reads, child domains, representative scale and clearer report wording are next steps.
Next
Public availability
The toolkit remains an internal pilot. Downloads, pricing, and purchase links will follow validation and release preparation.
Not released
What comes after the first release?

Server health checks and certificate monitoring remain planned. Broader automated security assessments are a future direction. These are separate product ideas, not functionality available in AD Access Review.

Dates and pricing will be announced once validation and release preparation are complete. The sample report is a preview of output, not a released toolkit. Read the full development update →

Before you get started.

Can I download or buy a tool today?

The AD Access Review toolkit is an internal pilot and is not publicly available for download or purchase. You can inspect the synthetic sample report today. Real product download and purchase links will appear after validation and release preparation.

What has actually been tested?

The latest automated suite passes 90 checks per Windows PowerShell 5.1 and PowerShell 7 engine, including packaging and release-record safeguards. Separately, the original full pilot package passed 20 package/failure checks and repeated 50 live-directory comparisons as an ordinary reader in one isolated Windows Server 2025 lab. These are defined test scopes, not a production-readiness guarantee. Read the validation details and remaining gaps.

What remains before release?

Independent tester feedback, three real AD timestamp scenarios, wider compatibility and representative-scale checks remain open. We are also preparing clearer report wording and finalizing supported scope, distribution/signing, licensing, support, refunds and verified payment/download delivery. There is no public release date or active checkout yet.

Do I need to schedule a call?

Our planned products are intended for self-service use. You can explore the roadmap here and send product questions or feature suggestions by email.

Do you provide managed IT or emergency support?

Jacobs IT Solutions is focused on software and automation. This site does not offer managed IT contracts, phone support, or emergency troubleshooting services.

Will the tools change my environment?

The AD Access Review pilot is implemented with read-only directory queries and local report-file output. It does not disable, delete, or modify AD accounts. Future products will document their own permissions and behavior before release.
